Privacy Policy
Draft for counsel review. Items in [BRACKETS] must be completed before launch.
MVAPilot ("MVAPilot", "we", "us") is a referral service operated by MVAPilot LLC. This policy explains what we collect when you use mvapilot.com and our claim request form, why we collect it, who receives it, and the choices you have. By using the site or submitting the form you acknowledge this policy.
Who we are
MVAPilot connects people who were hurt in motor vehicle accidents with participating law firms and marketing partners. We are not a law firm, we do not give legal advice, and we do not represent anyone. Contact: support@mvapilot.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us in the claim form:
- the state where the accident happened and roughly when it happened;
- whether you already have an attorney and whether you have seen a doctor;
- your main injury (this is health-related information, so we treat it as sensitive);
- your first and last name, phone number, email address and ZIP code.
Consent records. When you submit, we store the exact consent wording shown to you, its version, and the date and time you agreed (in the time zone of your ZIP code and in UTC).
Information collected automatically: your IP address (recorded by our server), browser and device type, screen size, language, time zone, the page you came from, and campaign tags in the link you used (for example utm_source or gclid). We use these to prevent fraud, to prove consent, and to see which advertising works.
We do not ask for your Social Security number, driver's licence number, bank details or payment card details, and you should not send them to us.
How we use your information
- to match your request with participating law firms and to pass it to them;
- to contact you, or have a participating firm contact you, about your accident;
- to keep a record that you agreed to be contacted;
- to detect spam, fraud and abuse, and to secure the site;
- to measure and improve our advertising and the site;
- to comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
Who we share it with
With Sales Nation LLC, the broker that places requests with participating law firms, and with those firms and our other marketing partners, who may contact you about your accident. The current list is on the participating partners page. Once a firm or partner has your information, its own privacy policy also applies to what it does with it.
With service providers that host our systems, store our records or help us verify and secure submissions. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
With authorities or other parties when the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety or yours, or in a sale or reorganisation of our business.
[COUNSEL: confirm whether any disclosure counts as a "sale" or "sharing" under state privacy laws and adjust the section on your rights.]
Calls, texts and email
If you tick the consent box and submit the form, you agree to be contacted by MVAPilot, its affiliates, marketing partners and participating law firms about motor vehicle accident claims, by telephone call, text message (SMS/MMS) and email, including with automated dialing systems and pre-recorded or AI-generated voice, at the number you gave, even if it is on a federal, state or corporate Do Not Call list. Consent is not a condition of receiving any service.
You can withdraw consent at any time: reply STOP to a text, tell the caller you do not want more calls, or email support@mvapilot.com. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency varies. Withdrawing consent does not affect contact that already happened.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies at launch. We may use consent-verification services (for example TrustedForm or Jornaya) that record how the form was completed, such as the page shown and the time, so we can show your consent was genuine. If we add analytics or advertising tools, we will list them here. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal where the law requires it. [COUNSEL: update when tools are added.]
How long we keep it
[RETENTION PERIOD: counsel to set]. Consent records are kept for as long as the law and our partners' compliance rules require, so we can show when and how you agreed. After that we delete or anonymise the information.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia and other states), you may have the right to: know what personal information we hold and who we share it with; get a copy; correct it; delete it; opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising; limit the use of sensitive information; and not be treated differently for using these rights.
To use a right, email support@mvapilot.com. We will verify your identity (for example by matching the details you gave us) and answer within the time the law allows, normally 45 days. An authorised agent may act for you with your written permission. If we refuse, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and you may contact your state attorney general.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: to opt out, email support@mvapilot.com with the subject "Opt out".
Security
Every page is served over HTTPS and your submission travels over an encrypted connection. Our servers restrict access to the data and we avoid storing it in logs. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
Children
The site is for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, email support@mvapilot.com and we will delete it.
Other websites
The site may link to law firms and other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change here and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site before it takes effect.
